Bc ppl don’t like slow burn movies. They don’t like to think. Everyone is rotted with tiktok slop that any movie that doesn’t jingle their keys and spoonfeed everything to them it’s automatically bad. Now the backrooms movie does have some flaws like the dinner scene but I do not personally think it outweighs the movie’s appeal. Ppl just don’t like to thoroughly engage with media nowadays it’s kinda sad tbh.

I havent seen the movie yet but I have a feeling I'm going to dislike it. I prefer the orginal story of the backrooms. I really disliked when the scp fans kind of adopted into their stuff and added all the monsters and everything. The thing that made the backrooms so scary was the fact that there was nothing in there, and that you were alone in it. It was a lot more psychological thriller esque whereas now people have really turned it moreso into a horror.

I just saw it last night and with the amount of people saying it was boring was insane. I have never consumed anything relating to the backrooms besides like maybe a few Roblox games?? And I didn’t find it boring at all 😭

It's bad because the movie didn't even develop properly the main characters, we see more monsters than we see the bacrooms itself, it is very slow at the beginning and then very hurried at the end, they don't even explain Async properly and the ending was ass

Never in my life has a horror movie encapsulated me like the backrooms movie did, it was so refreshing to have a horror movie where a jumpscare didn’t happen every second. Yes it felt like there was always going to be one HOWEVER that’s how you know Kyle had written it well when you are actually anticipating the jumpscares. And they don’t come so the anxiety builds up more.

i still havent watched it but theres no WAY the reason its bad is because "the characters werent developed properly" or "theres not enough backrooms" this supposed to be a horror movie or atleast a liminal space movie. there isnt supposed to be clear introduction in the first place

Those who don't like the movie is bc for sure didn't understand a single thing that happens. It goes WAY beyond the backrooms concept, it talks about psychology and philosophy, it's for people that don't like having whatever content they consume previously chew for them. SUCH a great movie
