crunchy chocolate cake or chocolate feuillantine cake๐ŸคŽ tbh my fav part is the feuillantine ๐Ÿ˜…   recipe :  homemade chocolate cake:  1 ยผ cup sugar (250 g) 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla (10 ml) 1 cup milk (240 ml) ยฝ cup neutral oil (120 ml) 1 ยฝ cup flour (190 g) 1 cup cocoa powder (100 g) 1 ยฝ tsp baking soda (7 g) 1 ยฝ tsp baking powder (7 g) 1 tsp salt (5 g) 1 tsp espresso powder (3 g) 1 cup HOT water or coffee (240 ml) (this is a big batch so iโ€™d recommend doing ยฝ if youโ€™d like a smaller cake)( i also dropped the cake on the way to the oven so if you make this amount just know itโ€™ll be more than the video!) mix the eggs & sugar until combined then add in the vanilla, milk and oil. sift in the dry ingredients & whisk together until fully combined. (your batter should be thick) then take the hot coffee or water & add it to the batter, mix until fully incorporated. (your batter should be thin). bake in a greased 9ร—13 pan at 350ยฐF for 30โ€“45 minutes. (check the middle with a toothpick to confirm itโ€™s finished cooking, it should come out clean.) let your cake cool. for the feuillantine: 2 egg whites ยผ cup flour (30 g) ยผ cup sugar (50 g) 1 tsp vanilla (5 ml) 2 tbsp melted butter, cooled (28 g) pinch of salt (i tripled this for the amount in the video) whisk together your egg whites & sugar until just combined. then add in the melted butter and vanilla, once combined add in the flour and salt and mix. spread thinly (almost translucent) on a lined baking sheet and bake at 350ยฐF for 8โ€“10 minutes. (should be golden brown all over & the edges will be slightly darker) let cool completely before crumbling.  melt about 1 cup of chocolate and mix with feuillantine. or make a ganache !
