You really should talk to people in the industry. These were education only at first then high demand by the public came and they sold very well to the general public. Great machines great price.

I wanted one of these so bad. I’d look at the page on Apple.com over and over every day. Ended up going for an iMac (white plastic with the remote via magnet) for my first mac.

These older Mac’s are great and still functional, I always just put era appropriate software and programs and they are awesome

I bought one of these new in 2004 and loved it. I specifically choose it over the iMac G4 because I found LCDs at the time had too much ghosting during animations and I thought the CRT was a better option at the time.

The problem with eMacs is that they were hit by the capacitor plague in 2000s, though perhaps not nearly as badly as the iMac G5.

I wouldn’t lump all iMacs together. The beautiful iMac G4, with flat LCD screen, was available at the same time as eMac - and so was my first Apple product

I had to help an older customer carry one in from their car to the Genius Bar in like 2010. Oof. Feels heavier than 50lbs. So awkward to carry.

My kindergarten had these or the sunflower iMac G4’s, my memory gets fuzzy, but I was at a decently well funded kindergarten so it could’ve been either or
