If they hadn’t slept together before the statement the statement would’ve been more like: “we are aware people will be surprised to hear that we are exploring a relationship. We were not expecting our friendship to develop into something more nor was it ever our intention to have romantic feelings when we spent time together as friends. We are navigating this slowly & understand that there are many factors in play that will hurt people we care for.” Yadda yadda yadda when Amanda said it was after the statement she came up with that on the spot.
