Academia is dead. Professors either blindly trust turnitin or are completely oblivious to AI generated work. I’m forced to dumb down my writing to avoid being flagged. All for a degree that barely has any effect on my likelihood of employment

I was accused of using AI, after spending two weeks defending myself I was told to use “less academic terminology and language”. I was also told my use of uncommon punctuation was unnecessary (the ‘uncommon’ punctuation was colon/semi colon and hyphens)

One time i was curious about the AI detection and how it worked so I wrote a paragraph and put it through and it came back 100% AI, then I had ChatGPT write a paragraph and put it through and it said there was no AI detected….I quickly gave up on just about everything

I got accused of using AI in a creative writing course last year bc apparently the level of writing didn't match the way I talk. I'm from the ghetto basically, so I don't talk all professional and posh like, quite the opposite, but I've been writing for 16 years and I'm not stupid, ik I'm not supposed to write the way I talk 🙄
