Well acually the best result for portrait can be obtained with 50 to 90 mm, even 135 begin to compress too much. 200 mm is certainly much compression, it flattens the face..

telephoto images 100mm + will always look more appealing the long lenses flattens things out closes the distance of the background and the subject its true to how you actually look whereas wide angle distorts if you want the best portraits use 50mm.

Lens length matters. When I was actively doing photography I would only use 100mm or higher bc of the distortion lens create when up close.

If you’re taking a selfie, you should put you phone as far away from your face as possible, then zoom in so you got the same frame. You’ll see ur face is different
