My students know don't speak to me. The first day of school I tell them don't ask me at anytime if ur passing or failing. ask yourself, did I show up, did I show up on time, did I do anything. more than one no see u next year babes. I'm terrified for some of these kids 😩

I went to my teacher for every lunch for 2 weeks to redo my essays in English for my F. He was so proud he gave me a C and I graduated. It just takes effort and communication.

When Killers Get Caught :
For some reason I could NOT understand chemistry and my teacher saw I was trying. After every test he let me submit written papers about “the chemistry of our world”. I’d find something and research its chemical composition. Its the only way I got a C.

And then admin tells us that we need to contact the parents because the students failing. What about the phone call? They received every single day for 80 days out of the semester that their child wasn’t in class. Did the parents think that their kid was still gonna pass even though they missed 80 days out of 90? Or in my case, I had kids that missed 88 days out of 90 and they still thought they were gonna pass.

I literally had stage 4 CANCER and never came to class because i was in the hospital, but still managed to do all of my work and get A B honor roll that year 😅 it’s not that hard bro

Ugh unfortunately this also happens in college with grown adults and then they write about it in my course evaluations like it’s my fault they submitted late work when my syllabus policy says no late work unless we talk about it (so they don’t ghost me like your example here demonstrated). I’m with you!

I struggle with my ADHD, no medicine, no therapy, nothing. I even had conflicts at home. I had mother issues. Yet… I maintained straight A’s, I always got With High Honors every quarter and my highest grade is math.

I graduated 25 years ago, but there was a kid who literally turned in the final assignment he needed to pass the last class he needed to graduate while we were in the lobby, waiting to line up to walk for graduation. The teacher graded it for him right there. And the rest of the class sat with the kid and helped proofread his paper to make sure it was good enough for him to pass. Teachers will bend over backwards to help kids get to where they need to be. The kids have to be willing to put in the effort, though.
