@adventurouskate: 🧀 Cheese Rolling 🧀 I attended the Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling this year, and WOW, this might be the wildest event England has to offer! On the last Monday in May, people hurl themselves down the steepest hill in Gloucestershire, chasing after a seven-pound wheel of Double Gloucester cheese. This tradition has been going on for centuries -- they even chased wood instead of cheese during the World Wars! But it's technically an unofficial event, because nobody wants to take responsibility for the broken bones and other injuries. There are four downhill races -- three for men and one for women -- and in between are uphill races for kids as well as adults. And yes, the winner gets to keep the cheese. So is it worth attending? I think so! I'm really glad I went. However, standing on that steep hill of loose dirt for hours was REALLY hard on my body, so I think this might be one-and-done for me.
