@kharmon0104: Come with me as a heart patient for my EP study / ablation ….only to learn it failed. 😞 and now I have to prepare for my next one —— without sedation. 🫠 Being a heart patient comes with ups and downs. Yesterday was definitely a down. I am so fortunate to have such a talented team with Cleveland clinic but even the *best* physicians can’t always make a heart “behave” so yesterday was not only insanely physically painful but excruciatingly emotionally painful learning my procedure failed and we had to abort - after 4 hours. Atrial tachycardia is tricky and not as easily treated as other arrhythmias.. being a nurse I find this even more challenging because I know we want to cure and help all of our patients and I went through my head over and over again what I did wrong for my heart to not just do what it was supposed to do. So now to prepare for my next one without sedation. 🥴 But that’s the reality of having medical conditions, not every plan pans out, your body doesn’t act or react the way it should for things to work. I realize I’m not “actively fighting” to live, but my heart *will* eventually end up with a worse condition - yes worst case scenario for some people - if we don’t get it under control. I’m only 36, I want my life back. Even if you can’t see someone’s medical condition it doesn’t make it any less debilitating or life altering. It’s lonely, scary and exhausting. Please send tips on recovery/comfort 🩷 my @Comfrt fit has been cozy but is tight on my cath insertion site. Also shout out to @Gatorade for being the only thing I have been able to tolerate and wanted since coming home 🥺 team orange flave for life ….
