@austincole.sk: These are four exercises you can do to learn the bent arm press: 1. Start with kneeling pike pushups. Super underrated and often glossed over, but a fantastic exercise for building up beginner push strength! 2. Regular pike pushups. The calisthenics industry standard for building push strength. The key is proper form. Hips high, stay protracted. Keep elbows forward. 3. Tucked liftoffs. I’m sure it goes by other names, but now you’ll feel what it’s like to get those feet off the ground. Go for 3 reps with a 1 second hang time. Do that 3 times. 4. Bent arm handstand. If you can hold this for even eight seconds and passed level 3, you have what it takes to do a bent arm press to handstand. You can also enter bent arm handstand from the negative and practice that way. Save this and follow for more beginner calisthenics tutorials! Want more help? For tuck lift-offs, do you recommend trying to lift your knee off the ground when doing the first progression? Right now, I find floating pike push-ups a bit too hard. I can feel the sensation, but no actual floating.
