I strongly disagree with this interpretation. Oda did not write Baby 5 to be understood that way. One Piece has many different types of characters, and baby 5 is simply one of them. Her behavior is a reflection of her psychological trauma. Not everyone who experiences trauma becomes cold, bitter, or obsessed with revenge. Some ppl develop deep emotional needs and seek validation from others, just like Baby 5. That makes her character feel very realistic rather than problematic

I don’t think she ever wanted to be an assassin. She just wanted to be needed and doffy “gave her purpose” by making her an assassin. Her back story literally shows u, she just wants to be loved. I don’t think that’s something u can judge her for, u can choose to just not like her character but ur making it seem so horrible. She’s my fav from doffys crew because of who she is.

Because behind everything else she wanted to be useful, thats it, thats how doffy manipulated her. When she asks sai if she’d be more useful dead and finds someone who seems to actually value her she has a similar reaction tk when Boa met Luffy, they were finally treated like a person and fell in love over something that seems trivial and silly to us but what means everything to her

idk i think she fits pretty well into the horror that was the "family". she joined even younger than law, probably had the worst fear of abandonment and then was raised to believe she had to be useful to have any value, that's the kind of manipulation doflamingo's all about. for a hyper side character i think there's a lot of depth to her, more than we get to see bc again she's not the focal point

I honestly disagree because in the last backstory she's very similar to how she is now so her being serious was because she never had the chance to be who she wants to be (lover girl) and now that doffy is no longer in her life ruining that chance she's free to do as she pleases l so in a way she was liberated

Sai literally healed her trauma. What are you talking about? Just bcs the way doesn't turn out like what you expected doesn't mean it's bad writing. The whole point of her character is that she wants to be treated nicely and it's okay for that.

i dont agree, baby 5 has the saddest backstory imo. she was raised into the donquixote family to be disposable. so her need to be useful isnt a gag its all she has known. in the fight sai recognized her deep internal issues and insisted she cared more about her life. sai never wanted to marry her but i think he has the best intention to break her out of this system
