@sgvtrickr0per: A quick life hack when you have a mare that’s in heat and they stood in the same trailer you can put Vicks vapor rub in their nose and they can’t smell the mirror that’s in heat anymore or any other studs in the trailer. Everyone does things differently, but this is one of the ways that I was taught for your horses to have a safe travel. #🤠 #lasso #cowboy #horses #horse
Who’s the horse’s hairstylist? I like it’s highlights

No one asked for my opinion but I challenge you to research the effects of vapor rub inside the highly vascular mucosal membrane of a horse. 1) severely irritating the camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus oil to their nose causing burning, stinging, and immediate inflammation. 2) vapor rub is an petroleum base jelly and since horse are obligated nose breathers they can inhale droplets that accumulate in the lungs, which can lead to exogenous lipoid pneumonia. 3) if you are using it for smell masking place a tiny amount strictly to the haired skin well below the nostrils or even use baby rub which doesn’t contain camphor. Look, we can all just type mean things and point fingers of how unfair that is but we aren’t growing to be better. I push to be better than the generation before me. He is your companion that is willing to do anything with you bc he trusts that you are looking out for him. Do the right thing and educated your self in the best practices for your horse. Our ancestors might have done things that they thought it was right bc that’s all the information they had at the time. We don’t have that excuse anymore. Again I’m not trying to bash anyone methods all I’m saying is there are other options and more importantly serious consequences to bad practices. Wish you the best.

Or just get the horse gelded. Not every horse is meant to be a stud.

Never apply inside the nostrils: Always apply the ointment on the outside of the muzzle or on the upper trachea. Putting it directly into the nostrils can irritate the sensitive mucous membranes.
