I usually go with 1. Rubbing alcohol (you can also use soapy water or Magic Eraser) and degrease the window 2. Wipe the window with a dry microfiber towel for any other residue 3. Spray your favorite glass cleaner (Sprayway is one of my faves but went to a different brand) 4. Wipe away with a glass cleaner towels (blue ones) OR Microfiber again until you get all the product off. The first step and second step, you can wipe in circles to get any contaminants off the windshield, but when wiping off the glass cleaner, either vertically or horizontally. Some people also use newspapers as well.

50/50 distilled water and 70% isopropyl alcohol. Damp the microfiber with it, wipe, then buff with separate dry microfiber. Easy 2 step, no streaks and can still work in direct sunlight.

Wet damp rag + dry rag. Then spray your glass cleaner, then dry it streak free. You’re welcome.

I use 3D Super Glass Cleaner Nano Pail. Dilute at 50:1. Amazing savings!

This is the way I also clean my windshield except I use a damp sponge,the one side with the scrubber. Most important step is to clean your windows when they are not in the sun best inside a garage and when they are cool to the touch.
