@wassimcti: Microsoft called Nightmare Eclipse’s zero-day disclosures “never justifiable” and releases a blog post criticizing the researcher’s actions. #cybersecurity #microsoft #windows #zeroday #infosec
Why don’t they just like pay him to tell them how to fix it? They got plenty of money.😭

There is no crime involved. Releasing a vulnerability is not a criminal act.

Love how the corporations hijacked the public narrative around security researchers and called it "responsible disclosure" to shift the blame on the researchers. These corporations make billions releasing insecure products, they deserve all the blame. Now they are even refusing to pay in the disclosure program they've setup and leave people empty handed.

Nightmare eclipse could easily self-host a git server (GitLab if they want to be salty, forgejo/gitea otherwise) and publish there. With their already built reputation they‘d have an easy time doing that and still getting tons of visitors and publicity. Like nightmare eclipse needs GitHub/GitLab 😂

It’s not illegal to release vulnerabilities, and government intelligence probably already sit on 100s of these 0days that they have bought
