@brooksbookcorner: Daphne has blessed me with another five star read. Such an incredible novel depicting our ability to fall victim to deception, despite our awareness of it, as well as the ambiguity of the mind, of what we assume, compared to our reality. I adored the ambiguity of this novel, with how Daphne paints the protagonist, Phillip, though arguably Ambrose, to be destined for a ruin of his own making, despite him being enitrely conscious it. His hatred turns into obsession, yet Rachel remains villanised. However, it is never truly clear who the true antagonist is, the self, of the villanised woman. #readinglist #dumaurier #book #booktoker #reading
