invite the friend. the mom of that kid can bring a treat for him. my daughter had friends with allergies and the mom always brought food for her kids so the friends could participate.

You can’t suggest making something special for the friend ?? maybe the kid didn’t know that’s an option. Instead of excluding him why not make an accommodation for his friend ?

I would say yes, I would invite his friend and give him the option to come up and if he comes, why not just get a cupcake it’s not strawberry or something he should’ve been included

I would of had a bigger conversation with my son. Explaining the social impact, how it will hurt his friendship. Does he really not want to invite him, or is it the strawberries? If it’s just the berries, he can give the invite with a warning, and grab a vanilla cupcake with red or pink icing 🤷🏻♀️

I would tell the boys mom look this is my son's birthday party he gets to pick the theme the cake flavors it's about him and I'm get a couple cupcakes and if you want to come with your son and stay with him the entire time to make sure that he does not get a hold of strawberries in any way he can have cupcake but if you're not going to come with him and watch him and I'm sorry but you just can't come
