I attended a community event hosted by a local meteorologist last month and he really prides himself on not fear mongering for clicks but even he was like genuinely visibly distressed about the Super El Niño. He said this will leave a scar on our atmosphere that will not heal within our lifetime

I live in Winnipeg, one of the coldest places on earth just a few weeks ago. may 10th, it was still 10 degree Celsius, today it is 34 c. never felt it go from unseasonably cold to unseasonably hot that fast before. I think it's a lot worse than we think it's going to be.

I think the thing that’s frustrating is seeing people’s response to this heatwave in Europe and India. “Oh it’s not that hot-“, “It gets hotter where I live-“, “Here that wouldn’t be a heatwave”. It’s almost like we live in different climate regions?! Where something that’s normal in one region is not normal for another. It’s not normal for Europe to be getting this hot this frequently— and worse conditions in one climate region definitely means worse conditions in another.
