This doesn’t combat capitalism or whatever you said. This is capitalism. Competition is capitalism, more supply lowers price

It’s not entirely true. While a lot of people tend to eat out for breakfast or lunch, Vietnamese people still like to cook home cook meals for dinner or weekend. The “cơm nhà” with the whole family is still the best meal

It doesn’t defy capitalism it’s basic economics. Lots of competition causes low prices. Low prices mean you need to rely on volume.

Volume but also operational efficiency. Most places have ONE or TWO items on the menu. That’s it.

Same in Morocco. I live alone and not even have a fridge at home anymore after it broke down 😅 3-5 euros per day for eating outside. A McDonald's alone is 8 euros here.

Sure, they might be street vendors, with almost little to no “big” capital. But what ultimately makes capitalism is the social relations, which are wage labor, exchange value, commodity production. So since there remains prices, an indicator for exchange, the social relations of capitalism exist in vietnam, which mediates their existence, their access to goods, they remain tied to capitalism, instead of defying it.
