The beast asks. (SWIPE TO SEE ALL!) I say no. And so the beast's hunger is now my responsibility. Sometimes, or perhaps often, it can be difficult to make decisions with reason, for the conflict in our hearts pulls us in two directions. Like when we have to make a decision about how much and when we should give our time and energy to others. Our lifeblood, which we each have only a limited amount of. In reality, this is up to each of us to decide. Only we know our own resources and limits. Only we have the power to say yes or no. But this is not as easy as it may sound in this fairy tale. We are asked for something. We want to say yes, to be kind and polite, decent and worthy. We want to say no, to keep our own limits and to be healthy for ourselves. Some smell this conflict in our hearts. Like a beast smells blood that it could drink from us. That is why we, especially we, are such easy prey. The beast begins the hunt. Smiling like a friend would smile. It's not a big deal for us, is it? To give this poor soul what this poor soul wants. Give what the other one asks of us so nicely. They aren't even asking so much from us, aren't they? These questions don't matter. It doesn't matter how much the beast asks of us. For we have learned that what we want doesn't matter. That's why most give in and say yes to the beast. Regardless of what our hearts truly wants. But it's also possible that we are able to say no. In that moment we rightly feel brave and proud for ourselves. For a moment we think we are safe from the beast and its bloodlust. But no. Because that's when the beast strikes one last time. The beast whispers to us how it is our fault that it will starve. Because we, by our selfish decision, will not give it what it needs. The beast whispers that do we really want to be responsible for it? But are we really responsible for it? Are we? How do you face a beast that asks for too much? #MentalHealth #comic #wolfart #toxicrelationship #darkart
