@relationalalchemy: Anxious attachment is not just fear of love leaving. It’s mistrust of love itself. So even when love is here… your body braces. Questions. Monitors. Grips. You never fully let it all the way in. And that creates starvation. Because the love you long for never truly lands. A huge part of healing anxious attachment is learning how to actually receive love without bracing for abandonment at the exact same time. #anxiousattachment #attachmenttheory #relationshiphealing #nervoussystem #selflove
What’s the root of anxious attachment? What wound?

To be honest - I get anxious when I feel the inclination they are not genuine and that make me fear love because 9 out of 10 times I am right 😭😭😭

My greatest lesson was learning to reject love that wasn’t showing up properly instead of chasing it. The healing was in sitting with myself and receiving my own love. 🙏

For the first time I've experienced this. And I'm learning that I just have to accept that if the other person can't meet my needs, then I can't MAKE them. I have to accept the pain, not force or cling to a false reality.

Problem is I have surrounded myself with untrustworthy people so I can’t practice letting love in with them.

How do we practice letting the love in? Is it like exposure therapy do we need to go into things we know will hurt us intentionally? How? 😭

this is interesting, as an anxious attachment person, I want the love I chase the love, but yet I see people being loved and I think I wouldn't even know how to accept that level of love if it came to me.

Thank you. Listening to you I felt a wave of grief and gratitude and compassion all at the same time for these parts of me trying to protect myself, and now being ready to update it out in the world.

It is terrifying and now I see why I was so controlling in my marriage. I tolerated, then i left. I have not really felt ‘seen’ since then, in romantic partnerships.

It only happens when they are not fully as in as me… when someone is super attentive and into me-there is no anxiety. But… I’m more attracted to the first ones… it’s like I have to prove I’m awesome. Love me, choose me, pick me. It’s SICK!
