Hi Claire, I've commented before about this on other accounts but I'll comment here also. In NSW Australia, we are required to do a 'shoulder check' here any time we change lanes, pull over to the kerb, diverge a car width. It's a form of blind spot check, although it's just chin to shoulder, keeping the body still. It only takes half a second to do but must be done in the test otherwise an observation fault is recorded.
Are there no circumstances whatsoever in England whereby you need to do a blind spot check other than checking the right side when moving off from the kerb?
I mean, what about motorways...if you're in lane 1 about to move to lane 2... do not do a blind spot check to watch for cars in lane 3 that may be crossing to lane 2?
Even Chuck Norris used to do this 🤣.
I find it intriguing why things are so different here!
