The most insightful point in the discussion was that all this does is feed the algorithm. We feel politically inert because all identities engage in mutually exclusive forms of politics that come at the expense of other groups. The endless talking amongst ourselves keeps the attention economy churning, but doesn’t lead to actionable policy changes that enable us to move on.
