I been helping my niece with her credit for almost 2 years now since no one else helped me with mine. I think hers is in the 700s now and she got her car refinanced

Co-signing is assuming paying for whatever you sign for. On top of this it can torpedo your credit if your cosignee doesn’t pay their bill or notify you that they didn’t pay it. I would almost never recommend it. A parent for a kid in a just starting out situation where you pretty much assume you will be paying is about the only way. Even then I would try to get ahead of it and build their credit instead by putting them on your account even if they never have access to it. It helps build it for them and as long as you pay on time they can build good credit without doing anything before they ever move out.

I’ve been using Chime Credit, good stuff. My credit is doing great now cause of it. That’s after I paid off my debts btw.

if it's been sent to collections can you dispute even if it was your debt?

Paying down my debt to help with the credit score and I’ve been making some good progress. I’m in great standing payment wise but my utilization is high (lost jobs) so I’m paying that down to get back in those 750’s. Thanks for the encouragement that this is the right decision…
