pan africanism has never benefited africans specifically. it has benefited you black americans far more. you all just have an issue with africa. No one in africa has ever made people in the diaspora feel like they have to identify with africa. Africans do not care whether you love africa or not

i think the issue is in your understanding of the concept not the concept in practice. Your supposed to bring your culture and prioritize or honor it in the spaces with others doing the same so we can appreciate it and discover similarities. A great example of this the one with black women from different parts of the world playing hand games they did in their homeland and showing each other the similarities or differences

I always felt it was a bit anti black american when people say that and emphasize "finding your roots" or identifying as what my DNA test says. you want me to drop my black Americaness cuz "we all black". nobodys telling them drop their tribe though. it doesn't matter that your Ashanti cuz "we all black" you being igbo is irrelevant cuz "we all black". we dont need to be a melting pot like whiteness in America. we can be a salad, one that is beautiful due to all the different flavors of blackness. pan africanism wouldnt even work in africa in my opinion the best we can get is very strong Regional ties and partnerships and a better understanding of colonialism.
