They think and imagine how they can satisfy themselves until their thoughts become an enslaving desire that they act upon. You aren't at fault for the selfish, deliberate, and evil choices of another, but you do unquestionably bear the consequences of such vile actions. Even if the assault was done in secrecy and under the cover of darkness, your mind and body are a testimony that speak in the daylight. As you begin to sort the pieces of your life, despite what you feel or have been told, you truly have invaluable worth. You are not a statistic, nor are you yesterday's trash. Rather you're a reflection of your creator who bears beauty and dignity. Restoration and healing are needed, and while that may take time, there is hope for such healing. The seriousness of the violation perpetrated against you is less than the enormity of God's grace. His love for you is immovable, steadfast, and persistent. He remains committed to you and to your best good for now and all eternity. As time passes in your quest for healing, it may seem that others have forgotten your pain or relegated it to the far corners of their minds. Perhaps they think that you should 'be over it by now.' Christ does not forget you though. He hears your cries and pleas for wholeness, and his remembering of you is connected to his character AND purposeful action on your behalf. He is your sustainer, restorer, healer, and the faithful lover of your soul. He is the one your heart can trust and love.
