I think that more common than "getting off" a dating app is simply not using it for a while. A good person will go in and answer any last questions so as not to inconsiderately leave people hanging. But otherwise, I think they're designed to just sit there for a few weeks while you explore someone new who might be a "keeper." Otherwise, just let the potential matches stack up and then if you have to return to the app, you'll be positioned to jump right back in. All just IMO!

I had so many bad experiences with dating apps many years ago I gave up on them. At 62 I simply stopped dating altogether. Nowadays I prefer casual friendships, but not loosing sleep if nothing happens.

I'm so happy that that statement didn't go where my mind went at first! 😂 (But to answer the actual question)... The couple / few times that I did explore dating apps, when I went out and we hit it off and planned another date, I would put the app on hold (so to speak). To me, it was just more respectful to her... But what do I know, that apparently didn't make a difference! 😂😂
