@amandamilk7: people always think it's easy to be a young lady trucker... until i tell them my instructor had to take over the truck again today. i was supposed to be driving. but a few hours in, i had one of those emotional moments again and had to switch seats. People always think its easy so senger seat, a ying ike was indy starker, ouf the window while he haholled the miles for me. that's the part nobody talks about. people see a young girl in a truck and assume it's some cute little lifestyle. pretty sunsets. coffee stops. a few steering wheel selfies. country music and open roads. they don't picture the pressure. they don't picture what it feels like when you're tired, overwhelmed, already behind, and still expected to keep a 40 ton machine moving like nothing's wrong. and they definitely don't picture the embarrassing part... having somedne order and more experienced ker, quietly reach over, take control, and save you from making a mistake you might regret. bo my instructor didn't make me feel stupid about it. he just took the wheel and kept going. but i still felt embarrassed. because when people talk about women in trucking, they always act like you either need to be "tough enough" every second of the day... or you don't belong here at all. because when people talk about women in trucking, they always act like you either need to be "tough enough" every second of the day... or you dent bo beway think its easy there' snd (oontn ahgiomindgtoebad)davs cker, for stress. for getting overwhelmedi tell them.. for being human. just pressure to prove yourself over and over again. so no, it's not "easy" being a young lady trucker. it's long days, constant judgment, and pretending you're handling it better than you are... until someone sees right through it and has to take the wheel.
