water pump on my 2015 v6 Taurus. stealership wanted $6k to do it and the timing chains while in there. I ended up doing it myself for $1200 with parts and tools. or, adjusted for inflation, rebuilding the 318 in my 85 Ram. i inherited it from my granny who bought the truck new. somewhere along the way, the engine was replaced with a rebuilt one. whoever rebuilt it has no business even touching a car. the front and middle main bearings were put in upside down (not spun. installed upside down) starving those crank journals. I don't know how long she drove it like that. but it made the 200 mile trip from her house to mine. only the block, heads, and connecting rods were reusable. I put some high performance parts in. today's bill would run close to $2500.

I spent $1200 for stupid EPB actuator. The part cost $125, the rest was all labor and computer syncing. I was livid. I could put the epb actuator on myself, I just didn’t have the computer to put it in maintenance mode, replace it, and “relearn” brakes to exit maintenance mode. Cool, cool Honda. And it’s a 6 speed so parking brake is non-negotiable.
