Mechanic here, either your fan belt has snapped or the alternator has gave up, most likely the alternator, in basic terms your battery wasn’t able to charge while you were driving so it went flat, thats why you got the warning lights and thats why your steering started to feel heavy, because its electric power steering. If you get a set of jump leads put on the battery for a minute or two then you should have enough power to get your window back up at least🙏🏼

just to let you know you might have breakdown and recovery on your insurance.. your probably paying for it as one of your extras any way ... and if you don't get it added on !!! BREAKDOWN AND RECOVERY you ring the insurance recovery number and they will organize a lorry to come out and lift the car and you might be covered for a taxi lift home ... 100% worth having it and put the recovery number in the car window /visor/glovebox incas e you need it again

This is what happened when I needed a new battery in my car! You can get one in Halfords for 75 quid and they can fit it for you 🙂

Omg this happened me at the sse arena carpark! My steering locked and my car died luckily I was able to drive straight into a space.. had to go in try enjoy the concert then had to wait til near midnight for someone to come lift my car and us ahhhhh the stress i know how you feel 🫠🫠🫠 xx
