@wire_you_mad: AI isn’t taking your blue-collar job. Not like people think. It can write an email and spit out a parts list. Cool. But it can’t walk a live job site, read the room, troubleshoot the weird stuff, and own the mistake when it goes sideways. The trades aren’t getting replaced. They’re getting filtered: the guys who won’t learn tools get left behind, the guys who do get paid more. #ai #lasvegas #bluecollar #electrician #fyp
Many people can’t handle the physical demands of the Trades , the heat, the cold, long hours, investment in tools . Etc

If you think robots will not replace blue collar jobs you're being naive. They are absolutely working on robots that will do blue collar work. Might be safe for 10 years but what about 20?

Bro what? It literally takes 2 years to get your electrical license. Most electricians don’t even have a license

When millions are unemployed suddenly due to Ai, there's not going to be a huge need for any trades, everything costs money and most of the population is going to be broke. Unemployed folks lose their home, not hire an electrician. That's the larger concern

A book cannot teach you common sense. I’ve been doing electrical for 30 years and field knowledge is the best thing to learn, I get it that you will lean a lot from schooling, but a book doesn’t teach you how to build what you see on a blueprint

No one can see the future. Incidentally, a 2y certificate doesn’t mean sheet, and it takes 10y-15y to master a trade.

4 to 5 years in an apprenticeship to get a real good job in the trades. Also experience is everything you cant compare a guy with 5 years to tech with 20 years under his belt.
5 year guy might be exceptional. But 20 year tech has seen much more.
