Lots of people in hardcore denial about the transactional nature of our relationships with each other. What she is saying does not automatically mean she’s using people. We are all getting something we need from the people we keep in our lives, just as we are providing something to them. That’s healthy, not malicious. Choosing to keep certain relationships of out of your life is also healthy and realistic.
