im kinda sick of mainstream artists choosing to go minimalist on their production, I mean I don’t hate this song or the production but I feel like it could’ve been way more interesting and could’ve built up to something more. Felt the same with SS26 by Charli as well. really hope minimalist production doesn’t become the next big mainstream trend

It’s good, but it feels more like an album track instead of a LEAD SINGLE. It feels safe but lacking something, (maybe a high note). It’s a bit underwhelming, but not bad.

It’s deep and vulnerable, which doesn’t make it bad or even mid in my opinion. I honestly like songs that make me really think. I’m sure there’s other basic pop bangers that’ll be on the album, but I find an approach to a lead single focusing more on the lyricism kind of refreshing instead of a basic sexy tongue-and-cheek song written by 5 people

I think she said she chose it as the lead single because its her favorite song she’s ever made/wrote (shes the sole writer) and i think shes done trying to go for hits as lead singles but what she feels is right to her
