I have no idea who this guy is, can someone let me know if he's the type of guy who actually would apologise because he feels bad or he did just because of the backlash because in the moment he wasn't remorseful or anything like if I had a friend in a phonecall hang up after sounding disappointed I would've reacted waaaay different than he did

Petting zoos are not inherently bad. I've been to one where they rotate the animals. They have others in a separate enclosure, where the public can't interact I'm with them, with an inside space if they are overstimulated and need quiet. A lot of mobile education programs (like where Maya used to work) will have 2 of each species, and will rotate them as well after a certain number of outings. They will also retire them when they reach a certain age, and house them at their facility. Just do your research and ask questions. The internet is wildly good at connecting like-minded people, so its just thay easy to find a person in your area to ask for good recs.
