dad‘s wrong on this one. it‘s about privacy. off course everything belongs to the parents and off course they can enter any time they want without asking for permission. but: they need to knock first to respect their child’s privacy. privacy has nothing to do with who‘s paying and who‘s owning stuff. it‘s a human right.

Dad expects to lay down the boundaries but won’t respect those his son is developing? I’am all for respect but it runs both ways.

The dad is wrong. While he owns the home, the children deserve privacy. Knocking shows respect and demonstrates trust.

I would still take the door, just for a memorandum of the structure of the household

I get it, but I still respect my kids space even if it’s in my home. Nobody wants to walk in on something you don’t want to see!

Privacy is vital for a child who has reached puberty he could of been getting changed at least knock to see if he's decent so I'm confused 🫤 but also the child should be respectful in speaking and ask in a respectful manner for how he's feeling about the privacy

But it’s still disrespectful to just walk in to a grown up kid. They need some privacy too.

You are wrong dad. That's call respect. When a door is close you knock. Even if that person is 6. You knock and ask if you can come in. 👎👎

No he does not pay for the house, you do...because it's YOUR responsibility. And just because you have this responsibility doesn't mean you can walk all over your kid's boundaries.

While I understand ppl in the comments talking about the son's privacy(which I agree with) the disrespectful way the son spoke to his father is a huge problem!!
