Had a child code coming into the ER and my preceptor had me go to the code for experience. We didn't get the child back. I cried walking back to my unit. Dried my eyes and started answering lights. Pt complained about how long it took, explained that we had a code, no details. Lady looked in my face and told me she was the sickest person in the hospital and I should have been there earlier 🙃

I got called. At shift change. To change a bed because there was a few crumbs on the sheets. However, the linen cart was right outside this patients door, she had 4 family members there…and she was INDEPENDENT!! I was so mad.

no we think you all are understaffed heavily. I was once discharged with my newborn and it took 3 hours. I felt bad for the nurse who was taking care of almost all the floor on her own.
