Now for most people, cleaning their belly button is a quick part of a shower and they’re done. But when you live with HS and PASH Syndrome, sometimes even something as simple as a belly button can become a wound care routine. When mine is flared up, it can drain, become irritated, and even develop painful tracts that make cleaning necessary throughout the day. So today I’m showing you a real look at what that process is like for me. You’ll see me carefully clean around the edges, check for drainage, and make sure everything is staying as healthy as possible. It may not be the most glamorous part of chronic illness, but it’s a very real part of my everyday life. These are the moments people don’t usually see. The extra cleaning. The extra pain. The extra time spent taking care of areas most people never have to think about. But this is why I share my journey. To educate. To spread awareness. And to remind someone else dealing with HS, PASH, or another chronic illness that they are not alone.
