@angelaffordablefinds: You only get so many summers. And I spent way too many of mine hiding. Hiding under oversized shirts. Hiding from cameras. Hiding at the beach. Hiding from memories because I was worried about what people might think of my body. The funny thing is... nobody was paying nearly as much attention to me as I thought they were. What they noticed was whether I was there. Whether I got in the water. Whether I laughed. Whether I made the memory. I'm 51 years old. This body has carried four children. It has survived hard seasons, good seasons, weight gain, weight loss, stress, joy, and everything in between. It doesn't look like a magazine cover. It's not supposed to. It's a real body that has lived a real life. So if you're waiting until you're thinner, younger, firmer, or more confident before you let yourself enjoy summer... Please don't. Wear the swimsuit.
