I'm convinced we are basically microscopic organisms in a drip of water under a microscope. you ever think about - when you look at microscopic organisms under a microscope- who do those creatures think they are? what is their point of view on the universe? what istheir known universe? how do they make sense of it? that's basically us sitting on earth. the universe is just too big to understand.

The quasi-stat I heard that really put things in perspective for me was the idea that if you took off from earth in any direction, the odds are similar to winning the lottery that you would ever EVER hit anything. So all that cloudy stuff completely fades away to empty black space as you travel. Boötes void is cool, but at our scale, if we traveled through the universe, it’s all a void.
