I feel like Kane definitely wanted to lean more towards thriller than horror. The characters and their narrative arcs have always been focus for his works. The protagonists from his found footage videos are all fan favorites. You need to kinda give a crap about the person holding the camera for the horror to be effective and shocking.

It truly reminds me of Plato’s cave, and an article I read titled “The Cave” by George Stanciu. I argue that Clark is not only stuck in his cave, but in fact willingly choosing to stay in the fact that it makes him feel safe

Impressive feat for a 19/20, but this film fails its characters. I didn’t care about a single one of them. Characterization and dialogue are both fundamental for good movies.
