HEADCANNON: Ive always thought that Ussop is part Tontatta. His mom Banchina has a small stature and similar features and I think Ussop having that lineage would explain the juxtaposition between his default cowardly nature and his brave disposition in moments where it counts. It would compound that his will and dream of becoming a brave warrior of the sea supersedes even his own lineage. It also plays well with the nature/ fairy skills Ussop gained in the Boin Archipelago (timeskip) and makes the Tontattas admiration of him super cute 🥹 (although they look up to him for the lies he tells). He even has his own fairy daughter, Merry. Was it just Ussops love for Merry that manifested a Klabautermann or did Ussops lineage also play a part?
