@claygirlbunny: I scratched the crap out of my neck before I made this video I guess lol. I ain’t a red neck okay #amputee #newamputee #firstleg #lifeupdate #amputeejourney
I’m a PT - you are doing AMAZING for 3.5 months in. I usually tell my amputee patients to be patient for at least a year. Your residual limb is going through volume changes and shaping for a year after the amputation so it may not feel right for several more months and that’s totally normal. You’re going to do so well 😌

Don’t compare I did the same thing and it lead me down a dark rabbit hole. God knows what you can handle so follow him and your gut. Don’t push it take your time . It’s like a bike with training wheels so people get it right away and some people fall a lot before we get it…….

You’re glowing girl! It’s a marathon. Before you know it, you’ll be running! I used crutches for a full month or two before progressing to using nothing! Everybody’s story is different. Focus on you. Every day is closer to where YOU will be as a full time walking amputee 👏🏼❤️

Thanks for sharing! I have a friend who is a double amputee, and I don't know what it was like for him at first, but I know that now, years in, he does have times where his stumps are sore, and he can't wear his prosthetics, but other times they feel good, and he can hike impressive distances and be super active. Hoping you find your rhythm with your new leg--and give yourself grace in the meantime! ❤️

giiiirl I had lots of problems in the beginning too! You’re not alone with your struggles 🫶🏻 Every case is different and yes - for some amputees it’s way more easier to walk right after they got their leg and for some of us it needs more adjustments and work to get there!

I’ve had mine for about three months now and like the first two months, I didn’t wanna wear it. I would wear it the least amount of time I possibly could. I just hated it. I was discouraged and now I’ve been wearing it for a few days. I still have to use my walker, but it’s it’s hard thing to get used to.

You're doing great. We all have our own speed and way to process this journey. Is good to see what others are doing and use that for ideas, motivation etc. but at the end, go at your own pace.

I'm going through the same thing, the pain is the same for me, it's not super painful but it's enough that I don't like putting full wait on it yet.

Hi ! I am a week away from getting my prosthetic! I’m getting excited for the 8th. I have a question. When I get mine I’m going to work hard on walking. Like I hope you can share with me in texting.

Everyone’s journey is different. I’m 2 1/2 years out from being an amputee. I’m still learning new things along the way. You do you boo. Take your time. I never call my leg a stump because I hate that word so I named mine Beaudie meaning beautiful 💕 You’re doing great and keep your spirits up and positive 💕 You got this girl 💜
