Maybe I’m a village girl, but I can’t relate to this generation’s idea of friendship. To me, friendship is a partnership. If we can both go a whole month without talking while we’re fine, healthy, and have our phones with us every day, then we’re probably not as close as we think we are. I respect other people’s views, but personally, I don’t call that close friendship.

To get to that level. U must have built a foundation before by being around each other most of the time. The best friends were made in school where u spent most of the time around each other. When the friendship matures, u don’t have to be around each other to preserve it.

I used to be against this but after getting issues with having people close to me, I now appreciate this kind of friendship coz a friendship is not supposed to be like a relationship 🤏🏾 If you talk everyday, it hurts a lot when you split plus chances of getting issues are high when you talk everyday and also I no longer want any friend to know a lot about me

If I may ask, can you comfortably go a whole month without communicating with your partner and be perfectly okay with it? Most people would say no. So why do we act like it’s normal when it comes to friendship? To me, friendship is also a relationship. If we are truly close, how can we go a whole month without talking when we’re both fine and have our phones with us every day? Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I don’t understand how people can call someone their best friend and be comfortable with a month of silence.

I wouldn’t use the word “The best friendship” reason is… not every friendship fits into that box, some friendships perform well with frequent contact whilst others don’t… the frequency of contact may depend on the vibes, personalities, bond etc. it’s not a one size fits all. My opinion 😏
