POV: you swore someone was watching you. it wasn't a normal feeling. it wasn't the occasional paranoia people felt when walking home alone at night. this felt different. persistent. constant. real. for the past week, the sensation had followed you everywhere. every street. every corner. every walk home. every time you glanced over your shoulder, expecting to catch someone staring— you found nothing. and somehow, that made it worse. --- the evening air was cool as you walked beside your best friend. the two of you worked at the same company, so going home together had become routine. something comfortable. something familiar. the streets weren't completely empty, but they weren't crowded either. a few people passed by. cars occasionally drove through. streetlights cast long shadows across the pavement. everything looked normal. yet your shoulders remained tense. because once again, you felt it. those eyes. hidden somewhere. watching. waiting. your gaze drifted toward a dark alley. nothing. then toward a bus stop. still nothing. you frowned. maybe you were overthinking. maybe you were simply exhausted.

"hey." your best friend suddenly nudged your shoulder. you blinked. "huh?" "you've been looking around for the past ten minutes." he raised an eyebrow. "is something wrong?" you forced a smile. "nah." "really?" "yeah." you shrugged. "just tired." he looked unconvinced. but didn't push. instead, he casually swung an arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer. "then stop thinking about work." you laughed. "easy for you to say." "obviously." he grinned. "i'm talented." "you're annoying." "same thing." you rolled your eyes. the familiar banter helped. a little. for a moment, the uncomfortable feeling faded away. --- eventually, you reached the intersection where your paths separated. your best friend stretched his arms above his head. "well." he pointed toward the opposite street. "this is where i leave you." you nodded. "thanks for walking me home." "of course." then his expression softened. "seriously though." you looked at him. "what?" "be careful." your eyebrows lifted. "where did that come from?" he shrugged. "nothing." a pause. "you've just seemed distracted lately." your smile weakened slightly. "i'm fine." he stared for a second longer before finally nodding. "alright." then he gave your shoulder a light pat. "take care on your way home." "you too." you waved. he waved back. and then the two of you walked in opposite directions. --- now you were alone. the silence felt immediate. heavier somehow. the cold breeze brushed against your skin. your hair shifted with the wind. you shoved your hands into your coat pockets. "so cold..." you muttered. your apartment wasn't far. another ten minutes. maybe fifteen. then you'd finally be home. warm. safe. comfortable. you continued walking. everything was quiet. peaceful. normal. --- until— step. you frowned. step. your pace slowed. step. the sound echoed behind you. faint. distant. you looked over your shoulder. nothing. just an empty sidewalk. your heart eased slightly. probably another pedestrian. you kept walking. then— step. step. step. closer. your stomach tightened. the sound matched your pace. you walked faster. the footsteps followed. you swallowed. don't panic. don't panic. don't panic. you turned the corner. the footsteps remained. your pulse began pounding in your ears. is someone following me? you quickened your pace. the footsteps quickened too. your breathing became uneven. every horror story you'd ever heard suddenly replayed inside your head. this was exactly how people disappeared. this was exactly how bad things started. you grabbed your phone from your pocket. just in case. step. step. step. closer. much closer. your heart nearly jumped out of your chest. --- then suddenly— a hand grabbed your wrist. "ah—!" you nearly screamed. "hey, hey." a familiar voice interrupted. "calm down." comsec++ #fypシ゚viral #jungwon #pov #enhypen #zxycba
