You probably already know, but it’s not the best source of psyllium husk because it doesn’t have as much fibre or gel-forming mucilage as true psyllium. Also, like most weeds the narrowleaf plantain is edible although parts of it may be unpalatable. Young leaves can be eaten cooked or raw but the older leaves become tough, stringy, and bitter, better left alone or, if you do decide to forage some, cooked.

interesting. I was recently looking into using this, I cant remember what for now, but didnt realise it came from plantain. Plantain is one of the hayfever triggers for my eldest 😅

(Not medical advice) The leaves can be crushed (or chewed) into a poultice and placed on the skin to ease pain from bites or stings. Works great for green ant bites
