@daviddomoney: Have you heard of the Chelsea Chop?
No… it’s not a dance move!
It’s a pruning trick done around the time of the Chelsea Flower Show, usually late May.
Take sedums, for example.
If you cut some back by about half now, they’ll:
1) Grow bushier
2) Become sturdier
3) Produce more flower heads
4) Flower a little later
And here’s the clever bit
Leave some plants untouched…
and chop others back.
That way, some flower earlier, some flower later…
and your border keeps going for much longer.
More colour for you.
