@islamicfinanceguru: Click the link in our bio for our buy vs rent tool to see what actually makes sense for you. Halal vs haram mortgages, explained fast: A conventional mortgage charges you interest (riba) on money you borrow. That’s the problem. Our view: unless you’ve genuinely exhausted the halal options, a conventional high-street mortgage is haram. The alternatives exist — so the effort to find them matters. Halal home finance avoids interest entirely. The two main models, simply: 🏡 Co-ownership (Diminishing Musharaka) — you and the provider buy the home together. You pay rent on their share and gradually buy them out until you own 100%. (Gatehouse, StrideUp) 🤝 True partnership (Pfida) — not a “mortgage” at all. A genuine partnership where rent is de-linked from interest rates and risk is shared more fairly — built to answer the critics of the bank models. 🔑 Shared ownership (Wayhome) — low deposit, buy more shares over time at market rate. Are they actually halal? The mainstream scholarly view, and ours, is yes. When done properly. The debate is about how “partnership-like” each one truly is. Current UK providers: • Gatehouse • StrideUp • Pfida • Wayhome • Offa (mainly buy-to-let)

A loan is back the same amount that you borrowed - Anything above is considered interest - Packing up in rent payment is just another way of charging interest...

where does those companies get finance from to buy homes for their clients? They probably take money from banks on interest then use that on higher yields to use the term halal .. I know there may be few investors behind it but there is more to it ..

Disguising interest (riba)
Certain arrangements that combine contracts to achieve what is effectively an interest-bearing loan can fall under haraam.

Yeah I absolutely do not agree with this. So unless I'm buying a house for 350k and your giving me the money interest free then it's not halal. Both ways halal or what you call haraam your both making money nothing in life is free
