I'd let the water run for a few seconds, while checking the temperature with my finger. Otherwise I don't know what's wrong with it. Did he want ice? Did he want it filtered? Was the glas not full enough?

You need to let the water run to proper temperature. Swill the glass out, as first pour isn’t right, then fill glass.
