1. The Origin: Why He Became "Fei Ke"
Before he was a con artist, he was Li Zerui, a brilliant student from a broken home.
The Betrayal: His father remarried a manipulative woman, and they had a son. When the stepbrother failed to get into university, the stepmother forced Zerui to take the Gaokao exam under his brother's name.
The Revenge That Backfired: Zerui agreed, but he secretly sabotaged the exam to get his stepbrother caught as revenge. The plan worked, but the blowback was severe: Zerui’s own university admission was revoked, he was banned from testing for five years, and his father completely disowned him.
The Downward Spiral: Stranded in the city of Jianghai with no future, Zerui tried to survive honestly, but his criminal record ruined every opportunity. After his beloved mother died in poverty, Zerui snapped. He abandoned his real identity and created "Fei Ke" (a play on the English word "Fake"), a persona designed to exploit the greed of high society.
2. The Cons (The "Victims" Secrets)
Fei Ke didn't just steal money; he played on people's worst impulses. He targeted five specific people, weaving them into a web where they all indirectly funded or enabled each other's scams:
Chen Shufa (The Mining Tycoon): Fei Ke pretended to be a well-connected government official's son. Shufa practically forced his own daughter, Jiajia, to marry Fei Ke to secure political backing. Fei Ke stole millions from Shufa's company and fled. Devastated and used by both men, Jiajia committed suicide.
Cheng Hao (The Financial Executive): Hao was a closeted rich man who fell for Fei Ke. Fei Ke used Hao’s high-end apartment, luxury cars, and insider financial knowledge to lure in his next victims, eventually draining Hao's accounts.
Su Qian (The Doctor): A married woman who fell madly in love with Fei Ke. She stole medical funds and took out massive loans to help Fei Ke "invest," only for him to ghost her once the money was gone.
Zhang Xuan (The College Ex-Girlfriend): Fei Ke’s first victim from his university days, whom he used and abandoned to climb the social ladder.
