Marine Biology is a sub-category of marine science or marine conservation. Theres many types of jobs out there under this category, like lawyers, technicians, social media and communication specialists, educators like teachers. But then theres the most popular ones such as the researchers and conservationists. A lot of people don’t realize that marine biology isn’t just the “hands on” jobs. Theres lots of careers around marine biology that aren’t hands on too! To get into many of these jobs, you need to go through things like math, science, chemistry, and other professions in order to meet the qualifications, just like with the “hands on” jobs. There’s a lot of misinformation out there. Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself. A lot of posts give false info and say salaries are higher than they really are or something like that (I know many of them are just trying to help and don’t know any better). I spent hours researching this info and I tried getting some accurate info. (Correct me if I’m wrong in something, I’m no professional). I think we can all agree to not get into marine biology if it’s just for the salary. Personally, I believe these marine bio careers should be paid more, with how much they help to keep our ocean and it’s animals balanced. But best we can do is to make sure of the sources we get our info from to avoid any surprises in the future! That way we can form our futures correctly and also do what we love to do.
