it kinda feels like he's bitter with zandik over this. as you grow your outlook on life changes and adapts, things you didn't understand in the past suddenly make sense as an adult, and then you suddenly realize how terrible an idea it was when your even older, but dottore doesn't have that. as a scientist that's quite literally the worst thing possible, not being able to grow and adapt because your outlook is forever stuck, restricting you from adapting ideas that you never would've considered

This detail always made me pretty sad , he’s such a well written character it’s clear that a lot of time went into his character . I know he’s not able to change but i feel like it’s hinted in the nod krai archon quest that he gets a like development? I remember him saying something along the lines of “The old me (Sumeru) would’ve reacted differently” something similar to that. So i guess he can “grow” and “mature” in those little ways but not his general ideas and passions?

I always thought that if Dottore returns he wouldn’t return as Zandik. After all his name still means heretic so he’d essentially have the same fate. I only thought this after Pantalone says, “Goodbye Zandik.” Like he finally managed to erase his fate as a heretic so he can live as Dottore.

feels so weird because i genuinely fell on love with his character, especially with Omega, but the fact that we admired Zandik which was already dead for a long time.. makes you think how different was Zandik from Dottore, probably they were like two different people and not a segment from Prime, but at the same time they are one

The way I was going crazy talking about this to my friend who HATES him lmao I was reading way too much into every sentence he said but I just love the way he’s aware of what he’s doing and feeling but not at the same time. He feels things so differently than everyone else it’s super fascinating
